Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast of the United States on Monday morning, August 29, 2005. It caused damage to Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana; but most harshly affected the city of New Orleans. Most of the beautiful city that was home to Mardi Gras, the French Quarter, and Bourbon Street was destroyed. Hundreds of thousands people lost their homes and belongings to the natural disaster that would go down as the worst Hurricane in American history.
